Terms of Service — Schooxie

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Schooxie. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for or using Schooxie ("Service", "Platform", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Schooxie is a multi-tenant, subscription-based school management SaaS platform providing tools for academic management, student records, results processing, fee collection, staff management, communication, CBT examinations, and smart analytics.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate, complete, and current information when registering.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. School accounts are managed by authorized school administrators.
One school entity per registration. Creating duplicate accounts is prohibited.

4. Subscription Plans and Billing

We offer Free, Starter, Professional, and Enterprise subscription tiers.
Paid plans are billed per academic term. Annual discounts may be available.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
Refunds are not provided for partial term usage, except as required by law.
Downgrading your plan takes effect at the next billing cycle.
We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
Upload, transmit, or store malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its systems
Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the platform without written permission
Use the platform to harass, bully, or harm students, staff, or other users
Impersonate any person or entity
Circumvent any access controls or usage limits

6. Data Ownership

Your Data: You retain ownership of all data you upload to the platform (school records, student data, results, etc.).
License to Us: You grant Schooxie a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and transmit your data solely to provide the Service.
Aggregated Data: We may use anonymized, aggregated data for product improvement and research without identifying individual users or institutions.

7. Intellectual Property

The Schooxie platform, including its software, design, algorithms, and content (excluding your data), is owned by Schooxie and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform.

8. Automated Features

Our automated features (analytics, insights, lesson plan suggestions) are provided as decision-support tools. They do not constitute professional educational, medical, or legal advice. All generated outputs should be reviewed by qualified professionals before acting on them. We are not responsible for decisions made based solely on automated insights.

9. Service Availability

We aim for 99.5% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance. We are not liable for downtime caused by force majeure, third-party infrastructure failures, or events outside our reasonable control.

10. Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your dashboard settings.
We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, with or without notice.
Upon termination, your data will be retained for 90 days, after which it will be deleted. You may request a data export within this period.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Schooxie shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Schooxie harmless from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your data, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you via email or in-platform notification. Continued use after 30 days of notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
